Since end of september she is finished: A newly shaped acoustic instrument has been built by Andreas Pendennis Köpke: the scandola. It's an invention of musical instruments. Andreas constructed, invented an absulute new kind of acoustic event following ideas of the swedish Luthier Christer Aadin, and the well known tradition of Gibson Mandolas.

Andreas Köpke builds acoustic instruments since more than 20 years. His deep knowledge about wood and handcraft is based on the work with traditional working boats et al. As bouzouki- and guitarplayer he is familiar with his customers interests

The special shaped head of the skandola was invented by andreas. He based his ideas on inventions of the swedish luthiers Christer Aadin and A. Moller who both advanced the traditional mandola and adapted it to the necessities of skandinavian folk music.

The arch top body follows the gibson tradition.
